Determine sites applicability to the Oceans Act and MPA Program objectives, e.g. does it fit within system plan
Added to Regional AOI List
Step 3: Evaluation and Recommendations
Determines the advancement of potential Oceans Act sites
Assemble a site work team
Conduct ecological, socio-economic, and technical assessments, assembling the required information
Recommendation on site
Candidate MPA --Public notice
Step 4: Developing the Management Plan
The final management plan is prepared by the work team with the
DFO Regional MPA CoordinatorStep 5: Designation
Approval by Regional Director
General Regulations established
Step 6: Management of MPA
Assemble management team:
