The Musquash Head Lighthouse was built in the 1950s, replacing the original light that was established in 1879.  A fog horn was added to the facility in 1967.  The lighthouse was automated in the early 1980s and the last light keeper left in 1987.  Soon after, the two keeper dwellings were removed from the site.
